Prayer is a powerful gift of love and encouragement that every soul can give to his or her neighbor.

I can truly tell when people are lifting me up in prayer.

I started making recorded prayers to help calm myself  during my severest migraines when I am so filled with pain that almost nothing can console me.

The Holy Spirit led me to record Bible passages and turn them into prayers, to speak them very calmly.

As I listen to the Word of God turned into prayers my stress and anxiety ease up and I can focus on the Lord and not the painful migraine.

"He sent His Word and He healed them and delivered them from their destructions." Psalm 107:20

Jesus asked us to lay our lives down for one another. We can do that by taking the time to pray for each other every day.

Not only does prayer help us take our focus off of ourselves and our own agendas, it helps us do something kind for someone else, to seek their benefit.

Prayer draws us closer to our God. We are obeying Christ's love commandment every time we seek our neighbor's good by lifting their needs up to our Heavenly Father's throne and seeking that He meet their need.

God's word tells us to pray always, to pray without ceasing, to pray for all the saints, to pray for all souls.

Paul the Apostle wrote, "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." ~ 1 Timothy 1:1-4 (KJV)

I know that as I listen to my own recorded prayers I begin to pray for others who may be suffering even worse than I am.

And the Lord sanctifies my pain as I give it to Him and allow Him to use it for His glory.

The video I've added shows a little bit of the process of how I created this card by repurposing one of my older encouraging digital cards to make this new one. I often take older pieces of art and turn them into new works of art. We will discuss this in a future blog! I believe that surely the Lord is always doing just this with each of us, isn't He, for His word calls us His masterpiece that He is perfecting. (*See Ephesians 2:10, and Psalm 138:8)
