The Merry Christmas Kitten Cards are the perfect choice for the little children and grandchildren on your list whom you want to send a special Christmas card to.
This delightful card was inspired by my own two little granddaughters. I painted the little kittens on a plane flight out to visit them one Christmas. They both live very far away. They were infants at the time and did not know what a cat was. But now they adore kittens.
I often re-purpose my cards and other art to create other works out of them. When our children were young I enjoyed creating joyful and meaningful holiday treasures that I hoped would bless the people I gave them to and also fill me with the joy and wonder of Christmas throughout the year.
One thing that I did with my smaller kittens card this year is to simply double matt it with white and pretty blue matts. The matted card looked darling and the little granddaughter l gave it to loved it! Now it is a holiday decoration in her home.
Christmas truly is special and we can allow ourselves to be inspired by its holy message about the Christ child who came to be our Savior even in June or JuIy. We don't have to wait till the year is about over to start thinking about the one who gave up everything to become a helpless infant on our behalf.
For that is like waiting till our life is almost over to start thinking about Him.
That seems a bit ungrateful in light of all He did for us. May we give ourselves things to remind us of Christmas all year long.
Even if they are just simple playful things that seem not to have anything to do with the baby in the manger.
Because anything that jogs our memory of that day and gives us joy points ultimately to the Christ child like the brilliant star that led the Wise Men to the Baby in the Manger on their long journey to the first Christmas morn.
