Paul the Apostle instructed us to keep studying God's word.
Why not let this scripture painting be a conversation starter between you and the Lord? First of all, take it into your prayer closet and invite the Lord to talk to you about it.
We must always Pray before, during, and after we study God's word.
Prayer is a holy conversation with the Lord. His Word is living and powerful. We should ask the Holy Spirit who leads and guides us into all truth to help us understand what the Lord wants to teach us from His Word.
Truly, we should ever pray that we would not think we know all there is to know about God's Word, for it is an eternal wellspring of divine wisdom from the heart of the Almighty and it is the Holy Spirit who unlocks the door into its truths.Jesus said, "Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth..." John 16:13
The Lord wants us to talk to Him. Every day. And He wants us to allow Him to talk back to us through His holy Word. That is why Christ put His Holy Spirit in our hearts. He wants an intimate relationship with us.
"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" the Apostle Paul wrote, "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." ~1 Corinthians 6:19-20
When we allow Christ, who is the Living Word of God to speak to us through His Holy Word, He makes us into bread that He can use to feed others.
He pours His light and love through us, and we can then lay our lives down for Him and for our neighbor as we share with them what we have learned at the feet of our Master from abiding in Him after we have allowed Him to teach us by His Holy Spirit from His Holy Word.
All we need is a good study bible, something to take notes with, a humble heart that asks Jesus to guide us into all truth by His Spirit and make us a light in this dark world for His glory. In Jesus' name, amen.
