“Many Blessings” Original Digital Art Print
My painting "Many Blessings" was inspired after reading Deuteronomy 28.
It is a chapter in the bible that reminds us to serve the Lord wholeheartedly, with joy and to remember all of the many blessings He bestows upon us each day.
In Psalm 103:1-5, the Psalmist reminds us of how important it is to remember all of the good things God does for us and to always give praise and thanks to Him.
“Bless the Lord, my soul,
and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, my soul,
and never forget any of his benefits:
The word the psalmist used for “forget” means to ignore, cease to care, mislay, be oblivious of, from want of memory of, to forget…(Strong’s)
No matter how bad a day we have had, no matter how trying our circumstance may be, there is always something we can be thankful for.
The Psalmist mentions some of the things we should be thankful for in Psalm 103:3-5
“God continues to forgive all your sins,
He continues to heal all your diseases,
He continues to redeem your life from the Pit,
and He continuously surrounds you
with gracious love and compassion.
He keeps satisfying you with good things,
and he keeps renewing your youth like the eagle’s.” (ISV)
The prophet Jeremiah lived through some of the worst circumstances possible, yet he wrote the following words:
“Because of the Lord’s gracious love we are not consumed,
since His compassions never end.
They are new every morning—great is Your faithfulness!
“The Lord is all I have,” says my soul,
“Therefore I will trust in Him.” (Lamentations 3:22-24 ISV)
Let us pray to remember to be grateful for all of our many blessings from our merciful and gracious Heavenly Father, and let us pray to serve Him with joy wholeheartedly for He is love and loves each of us with an everlasting love.
